The seasons are changing, which means the temperature is dropping too. It can be difficult to stay motivated to workout when it is cold outside. That's why setting goals is key to motivating yourself to workout. When it comes to setting goals, it is important to think SMART:
Specific
Setting specific goals makes them easier to follow. When goals are to broad or general, it is easy to deviate.
Measurable
Make sure you can track your progress so you know how well you are doing so far and how much further you need to go to meet a goal.
Attainable
If your goals are not reachable, then you need to readjust them. There is no point in setting a goal that you know you can never meet.
Relevant
Set goals that are important to you. If they do not matter to you, then you will never be motivated to reach them. Goal setting should be personal to what you need and want in life.
Time-Bound
Putting a time limit on your goal pressures you to try and meet that goal sooner, rather than later. If you do not give yourself a time to complete your goal, it will take you much longer to reach your goal, possibly dissuading you in the process.
Setting goals is the 'smart' way to keep yourself motivated during fall and winter to keep working out. Don't forget to keep taking EnduraQ between workouts!
