The holiday season is one of tranquility, love, family, light, and delicious food. Sadly through this euphoria, and often times the unrelenting stress of the holidays, people neglect their otherwise ambitious fitness goals.
What many people often forget through the cloud of commercialism is that the individual has immense control over how they spend the holiday season. During this time of winter wonder there are many ways to stay active, while enjoying the company of those closest to you. Our staff at EnduraQ has come up with our 3 favorite ways to have an active and meaningful holiday.
Snow Ball Fighting
Nothing brings a family closer together than competition. Not only does being in the snow burn more calories than if you are in hot weather, snow ball fighting requires a lot of different forms of physicality. Running around increases stamina and speed, and assembling and throwing giant snowballs takes a certain degree of strength. Let the light of your inner child shine with this old school, athletic fun.
Family Stroll
While not the most physically exhausting form of exercise taking a family walk is a great way to spend time with those closest to you, while still getting the heart pumping. After all, after a large holiday meal you are going to want to get up and move around. Some of the greatest bonding moments come from doing the most mundane of activities. Walks are the perfect time to share stories and reflect on the past year.
Family "Touch" Football
As we all know competition forms love, so why not engage in the ultimate competition. Nothing feels more exhilarating than a game of touch football with your family. Football requires speed and coordination and is sure to provide a fun workout. Just make sure you are playing touch football, there is no reason to sack your family.
Whatever your plans are this holiday season be sure to eat right, and work out. And as always be sure to check out EnduraQ for all of your fitness needs.
