How to Get Cardio without Running

Do you hate running? You are not alone, many people force themselves to run just to fit cardio into their workouts. Sometimes it's hard to remember there are other alternatives to running when it comes to cardio. Here are a few ways to get your cardio so you can skip the treadmill.

Jumping Jacks

Doing jumping jacks is a great way to warm up. It's also a great calorie burner. Jumping jacks are a true total body workout because they involve your arms, legs, and core.


A great muscle builder, cycling gets your heart rate up and causes less strain/injuries than other forms of exercise. Additionally, cycling can be done at any pace so you control the intensity of the workout. Alternating between high and low intensity is usually best to get your heart really pumping!

Jumping Rope

Remember when you used to jump rope on the playground for fun? Well, it's another excellent form of cardio. Not only does it burn off calories, but its a great way to build agility and quickness. 


Another full body workout, burpees are the perfect workout for conditioning and endurance. They will make your body stronger overall because they work your arms, chest, quads, glutes, hamstrings, and abs.
