DIY Face Mask For Flawless Skin

DIY Face Mask For Flawless Skin

Turmeric + Greek Yogurt + Honey Mask

This mask has just three common kitchen ingredients, and each one has amazing benefits on its own. Yogurt contains natural lactic acid (an alpha-hydroxy acid) that works to dissolve dead skin cells naturally, essentially acting as a mild peel for your skin that can clear up blemishes and discolorations. Lactic acid also helps boost collagen and elastin production within the deeper layers of your skin, helping with wrinkle reduction. Organic Greek yogurt is the best type to use because of it’s thick consistency and powerful probiotic properties, but regular yogurt is also fine. The probiotics in Greek yogurt can help heal acne and also create a barrier that prevents new acne-causing bacteria from reaching the skin.

Honey is an amazing ingredient for all skin types. It's a natural antibacterial, which makes it great for acne, and it's also extremely moisturizing. It also provides anti-aging benefits. Try replacing your daily facial cleanser with pure honey and marvel at the results. Manuka honey is the best because it is particularly potent, although it is more expensive. You can read more about your honey options here.

Turmeric is an anti-inflammatory and antioxidant superstar. It's antiviral, antibacterial, and anti-fungal, making it another great acne-fighter. It’s well-known for lightening and brightening the complexion by diminishing hyper-pigmentation and scarring. Be very careful with the turmeric as it will stain anything and everything, especially your fingernails. We recommend wearing gloves to apply this mask.

Another great thing about this mask is that the measurements aren't particularly important so you can quickly grab all the ingredients and mix up as much or as little as you like. Any leftovers can be saved in the refrigerator so you can use the mask two or three times a week. Here are some ballpark measurements for a single use:

1-2 teaspoons organic Greek yogurt (If you have oily or combination skin, it’s best to use non-fat yogurt, but dry skin will benefit from a higher fat content)

1-2 teaspoons raw unfiltered honey

½ teaspoon ground turmeric powder*

*Pay attention to how much turmeric you use. If you use too much, it may stain your skin

After mixing all 3 ingredients together, the mask should be a light yellow color. It doesn't need to be a dark yellow and it definitely shouldn't be orange. If you're worried, try a small test patch before using it on your whole face.

Keep in mind that the color of the turmeric is part of the reason it makes the skin look so good. For example, it's excellent for dark circles when applied directly under the eyes.

When you're ready to apply the mask, slather generously over the entire face. Don't be scared to apply a thick layer. Leave it on for about 40 minutes or until it dries. Don't forget to take your EnduraQ to feel all-naturally healthy on the inside while you beautify the outside!
